“No problem can survive the assault of sustained thinking.”

Okay, okay… given that this quote is attributed to Voltaire, it probably wasn’t originally meant to be about engineering. Nevertheless, from the moment I first heard it, I knew that it described my approach to engineering perfectly. So many questions go unanswered due to initial discouragement or simply distraction. With laser focus and unflagging determination, any problem can become solvable. I truly believe this, and it is the mantra by which I approach all my work.

My name is Matt Tilghman, and engineering is my passion. More specifically, thermodynamics (modeling and analyzing the flow of energy) is my passion.
